There are a number of retailers, establishments, etc. that have no issue in expediently processing your refund. Then you have the others....here we go (story time)....
I purchased a laser hair removal package (for my face) from an unnamed medical spa. I put down a $500 deposit. Then, I saw one of its advertisements for underams. I told myself that while I am trying to beautify my inside I might as well beautify my exterior to catch my future husband. So, I bought a subsequent package for my underarms, which required a $250 deposit.
So, I had an appointment for my face a few days after purchasing the treatment plan. When I was there I filled out the basic medical forms and indicated that my skin may keloid. Remember that tidbit for later. The technician learned that I was using a toner with glycolic acid, so I had yo wait 2 weeks before I could start my treatment plan.
Two to three weeks later, I go for my underarms. I bought some lidocaine to minimize the pain. The technician talked to me about the procedure. Had me clean my underarms. Couple mins. later she comes back and asks me about my keloids. I told and showed her they were on my back and in response I was told that keloids were a contraindicator for its spa. Additionally, she told me that "I" could call around to other locations to see whether "keloids" were a contra- indicator for those respective locations.
So, let me get this straight. You have $750 of my money (which unbeknownst to them I split between two credit cards that are accruing daily interest), but I'm supposed to call around my area? Sidebar: I've had laser hair removal on my face multiple times and the most I've experienced is burning.
So, one of the technicians is also the manager. So, she said she would put notes in the system. There's some sort of review process and I should hear back from someone within the following week. I didn't hear one iota week 1. I didn't hear anything week 2. At the most, I figured it would take a week or so to process these reversals. So, I called last week. "Manager" was not available and I left a message. "Manager" calls me on Saturday and left me a voicemail talking about the refund process will take a number of "days. " Days; not weeks! So, I stewed over that voicemail over the weekend because I didn't like the insinuation that I was being impatient or something?
Today, I called and of course she was not there and I could not leave a voicemail because she didn't have any! Neither did I receive a call back! It amazes me how these companies take your money for a service and when its time to return those monies back to you; you have to be extremely overly patient to receive it! Now, while that missing money from my 2 credit cards are accruing interest daily - it has the opposite effect in their account!
These companies ask you for "patience" as if they give you that same courtesy when it comes time to pay them! They want their money then and now - no questions asked and no excuses! I want the same when it comes to my damn refund!
